ALERT - Quick Action Needed to Build Legislative Support
To Board Leaders supporting the mandate relief platform of the CT Municipal Consortium for Fiscal Responsibility - now an alliance of 206 Boards/Chairmen from 118 towns and cities statewide:
The session is in full swing... and hearings well underway. On Monday, four groups participated in an informational by-invite-only hearing on mandate relief held by Planning and Development Committee. They were the consortium, and our partners in this effort CABE, COST and CCM. This committee - unlike some others at the LOB - seems to display keen interest in providing mandate relief of substance to the towns. They will hold hearings on particular bills of use to us providing mandate relief going forward.
Below are a handful of Bills that require action on our part to build support at the Capitol amongst Legislators. More will come out next week.
Tell your Legislators that you want them to SUPPORT these mandate relief reform Bills... and to add their name as a cosponsor! IT MATTER!!! Ask them to get other members in their caucus to cosponsor as well...
It would be helpful for you to let us know that particular Legislators say they will cosponsor...so that we may monitor their name being added to a Bill. The people from COST...CCM...CABE can help br sure it occurs...and isn't forgotten.
In particular we seek cosponsors on:

MAINLY THRU OUR JOINT EFFORTS....AND YOUR OUTREACH. WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT GET 40 TO 60 ON IT BY MONTH END......THE MORE THE BETTER. IT MATTERS!

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED TO GET ACTION. TELL YOUR LEGISLATORS TO SIGN ON AS COSPONSORS ASAP.IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE.......... AND MANY MORE ARE LISTENING TO THE COMBINED MUNICIPAL VOICES. TO GET MORE OF THEM TO ACT...... WE NEED TO ACT BY CONTACTING OUR LAWMAKERS TO HAVE THEM COMMIT TO SIGNING ON....AND BY ASKING OUR FELLOW BOARD MEMEBRS TO WEIGH IN AS WELL. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE.
NEXY WEEK...ANOTHER SET OF BILLS..........STAY TUNED.......
BEST REGARDS TO ALL
