Now that I post this .. I am sure they will stop posting a current meeting agenda. Yes folks, that is where you can view what is "planned". Don't get me wrong, they do not follow an agenda perfectly and sometimes ... "topics" listed for discussion are kicked down the road over and over again and never addressed!

Latest info .. WITHOUT any questions for environmental concerns .. "run-off issues, use of pesticides, use of fertilizers" ... AND ... no mention of possible charges - when our town needs money, please notice our town manager's "suggested motion is APPROVAL. What!!??. No one even addressed the idea for a community garden or answered the big question: "WHY is parks and recreation now in charge of open space and how land paid for with our tax dollars can be farmed out".

It is difficult to research this issue ... you need to read posted minutes of the Open Space Committee and minutes from the Parks and Recreation Dept (P&R). Remember the P&R folks cannot even maintain plantings at Burnt Hill Park and when they applied for a tree grant -- they requested (if I remember correctly) ALL NON NATIVE SPECIES - thats right no tree that would be commonly found or suited for the climate in CT. Here is the town manager's memo (read and weep):
