Read in the Chronicle yesterday that the UConn Board of Trustees is planning to look into the salaries of UConn administrators to see if perhaps they are overpaid. This would be in response to the revelation that the top police administrator is making more than the commissioner of police in NYC. And ALL of the public employees making over $500,000 (according to CTsunlight)are employed by UConn. I find it disturbing that it requires an article in the Hartford Courant (see Another Example of State Excess post below) to make these people aware of this issue. Shouldn't the BOARD OF TRUSTEES know what these people are making, for goodness' sake? But at least these "hogs feeding at the public trough," as one Courant reader put it, are going to be looked at more closely.
