In the public comment to the BOS/BOF meeting on 3/12, note the comment from Jardo Opocensky, of Settlement Road, who complained about residents getting newspapers thrown on their driveway. Noting it was worse prior to a snowstorm, because it gets wet or worse shredded by the snowblower. Creates a mess all over town and is costing the town money.

Seems to me that someone else around here was complaining about EXACTLY the same thing in this very forum.

Must be that great minds think alike.

I've never introduced myself to Jardo, and disagree with some of his comments/positions over the past many years, but it is clear he loves this town. Maybe we should draft him for interim town manager.

I Much Agree & Called Them Myself To Put Forth My Concerns. If It Was Inhaled into My snowblower, I told them i Was gonna Call AGAIN to get their Addre$$ to Send Them the Repair Bill:ohmy: It Might Be A Pilot Program & I hope It Spreads, But I Have seen a Few Reminder boxes chained to Phone Polls In Town Neiborhoods, Fine By Me.
I Have spoken to Jardo & Clan Over the yrs Occassionaly, Wouldn't Be a Bad choice But Why Interim Auntie?
How about it Jardo, Up to The Challenge?

I believe that was me that was complaining about that and he's absolutely right. The main offender is that free reminder newspaper. I had to call them over 10 times telling them I don't want their paper. It was only when I threatened legal action(littering on my property) that they stopped.

I'm not sure Jardo would be interested in a full time gig, and having to deal regularly with the pompous ineptitude of politicians.

Now, if we offered him a position like "dictator" and granted him the power of capital punishment, it could get interesting. Certainly entertaining.

Kidding aside, FAH, I'm ITA about that free reminder newsrag being the worst offender. But while you and Jardo are correct, what exactly is Mr. O hoping that the town officials can do about this? Is he hoping for an ordinance saying the town can and should heavily fine repeat offenders?

Let's balance the budget on fines to the Reminder!

sigh....your last comment about fines etc is dumb. I have an idea PM me where you live I'll drive by once a week and dumb all kinds of litter on your front lawn. See how long it takes you to get fed up.

Lame joke didn't go over well.

I get plenty fed up with all the litter, including many of the reminders, etc. that get tossed all over the yard.

I am serious, though, in wondering what was Jardo hoping to accomplish bringing this to the town officials, if for nothing other than to just vent?

Its a shame you and others have had to go to such lengths to get this to stop.
