Hebron Dollars & Sense

The HBOE wants and needs it's message shared with the Hebron community - parents and taxpayers - its constituency. To do this they need to make their minutes an accurate reflection of what transpires at HBOE meetings and video tape or broadcast live meetings. I can not objectively put into words what transpired at last nights meeting. I will not continue enable a dysfunctional system by posting minutes.

WHAT HAPPENED?

I understand what Loreta was saying. And regrettably, I had to leave just as they got started talking about the budget. They spent 2 1/2 hours talking about their "kudos," and didn't get into budget discussions until 9:30. If they want people to be aware of what is going on, shouldn't they discuss the items when most people can realistically be there? I had kids with me--no way around it, and they needed to get to bed.

That said, I'd really like to know what happened during the last portion of the meeting. Anyone else there who can summarize?

I couldn't face another BOE meeting last night therefore missed all the fun. To think they got around to business at 9:30 pm is true to form and disgusting! Def: Dysfunctional - abnormal or impaired functioning – Yep that is what all but one BOE member appears to be.

Question of the year:
Q: What board clerk has the least to report?
A: The BOE clerk, because there is nothing of substance said or acted upon.

Another budget year done – and hopefully the spenders of OUR money will spend frugally and wisely. That will be necessary because next year will really be a test of the fortitude by the taxpayers.

Time to pack up my tools and restore my energy till 2011-2012. Also have got to work on our personal budget now. Taxes are going up – again!
