Just wanted to say that I thought the Memorial Day Parade went well today - nice turnout and participation.

HES Band (as usual) was the ultimate bomb! Many thanks to Stephanie Bancroft for all of her hard work and dedication to these youngsters. Wonder what will happen to the band next year if Supt. Cruz and the HBOE gets their way and reduces the music program - we may not have a band

And the bad taste award goes to.... the woman marching with the RHAM Middle School Band with the Vote NO taped to her bottom. First of all, IMHO, the parade is not the venue to display your political/social views - it is to honor those who have served. Secondly, to march with a school band and have something taped to your bottom is tasteless and unprofessional.

Just wanted to add that I thought the sports teams were much better-behaved today than they were last year. I didn't find myself constantly distracted by giggling and chattering during the ceremony. Kudos to all of the coaches for behaving like adults.
