I went to the link - downloaded the file and saved the pdf file. Has anyone emailed the board, superintendent, BOS and attached the file and asked IF it is valid. If so, what (if anything) is being done about it? Also, if this is true, why hasn't this information been circulated in the community?

As a retired senior citizen, I definitely would like some answers. I have always thought the projected budgets were too much - the BOE has always just gone along with the recommendations without questioning WHY, WHY, WHY. I also support bifurcation i.e. list the school budget as a separate entity on our ballot (rather than a simplistic line item) I believe more voters would reject the budget at least they could vote it up or down on its own merits!

At one time I did the math and no longer have the figures ... but the BOE budget is high (70-80% of our town budget. Checking figures in the school budget, I again calculated that the bulk of the budgets was for salaries and perks (again 70 or 80% of the school budget)NOT THE STUDENTS.

AGAIN I write -- this is ridiculous in a community of just over 1,000 kids in the system. That is not an anti-education statement, it is a statement saying please be careful with my tax dollar.

Who can ask for an audit? Who can produce invoices of payments to this law-firm? Why has no one addressed this letters contents? Lord, I wanted to know WHY our superintendent had such a high travel allowance. I asked if it was a perk for her commute from Essex. I think one of the responses was ... we cannot force our employees to live in town. WELL, maybe IF THEY LIVED IN TOWN they would feel the tax burden as we do and not think of it as free money.
