Do we need a TOWN manager?!? 1 Year, 2 Months ago  
The shared arrangement appears to be working WELL!! Hopefully, we are saving town funds too.

The administrator posted the link to the Town Charter I need to set aside some time to read it. Hope the position of "town manager" is not carved in granite and this SHARED ARRANGEMENT can continue beyond the end of June.

Just re-read the BOS minutes ... apparently the arrangement ends July 1. The minutes referenced section 501B of the charter. I need to read that section.

Section 501B is pretty specific - seems the best action would be NOT TO HIRE A NEW TOWN MANAGER FOR AWHILE!

I copied this from the Charter link:
Upon suspension, removal or resignation of the Town Manager, the Board of Selectmen may appoint an Interim Town Manager, who shall serve at the pleasure of the Board of Selectmen for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days. In the event a permanent Town Manager has not been appointed within the ninety (90) day period, the Board of Selectmen is empowered to extend appointment of the Interim Town Manager for increments of thirty (30) days or until a permanent Town Manager has been appointed. The Interim Town Manager shall not have the powers of permanent appointment that are conferred on the Town Manager by this Charter.

who would want that? the last interm manager was vicki avalis and she got hammered in the papers.

Ahhh - but these three who are sharing it NOW seem to be handling the position well. They are taking their responsibilies seriously, doing their homework and responding quickly to inquiries.

Our neighbor had to phone about an issue and he claimed he was given "first rate service .. with a quick, accurate response"

A REAL PRO Would Have ALL THE CERTIFICATIONS & A PROFESSIONAL Knowledge Of The Grant & Federal/State Appropriation Proce$$ To Procure The Max amount For Hebronbury.
